Shaking when backing off? Mk1 valver

Had this problem for quite a while now, but after backin off the accelerator the whole car seems to shake quite a bit, its more noticable in lower gears.
Thought it might be a gearbox problem but i had a new box in a few days ago so any ideas anyone?

Does it ever come out of gear?

Does teh gearstick move backwards and forwards when planting it or backinmg off suddenly at high revs?

If so engien mount(s) are likley to be fooked

Nope never came out of gear, the gearstick did move back and forwards as described above but after havin the new gearbox fitted this week it doesnt anymore but the car still shakes....engine mounting you think then?

if the gear stick doesn't move then mounts SHOUDL be fine, check them for signs of wear/cracking in the rubbers
