The only thing Ive found so far is that the locking wheel nut key and the three pin key for the wheel trim is still at the dealers coz he forgot to give it to me.

Better hope I dont need to remove a wheel before they arrive :)

Quick Question.

When the car idles, it seems lumpy, is this a normal thing? or should I be worried?

It was running on normal unleaded as I had to put 10pounds worth in coz the petrol station near the renault dealer didnt have super unleaded or anything!!!

Ive filled it up with BP Ultimate now tho, so will this make a difference?

If you listen to the exhaust it should sound a bit lumpy yes.. thats the nature of the slightly wild cams in the engine. If you look at the rpm on the dash it shouldnt be fluctuating much, if at all.

Best try to run it on super or optimax as that is what renault recommends and you really arnt gonna get full potential of the engine without it. It may take a tank full for the ecu to adjust.

Ps. congrats on getting your new car.. you should be out eating up the tarmac not inside posting on ere.

Ive done 50miles today in her.

Im heading up to the NEC tomorrow so itll get a good run then.

One thing I liked.... Start the engine when its dark and the headlights come on!! hehe :)

I havent turned the ESP off yet, so not sure what difference that makes.

Its really nice to drive, its strangely deceptive, it doesnt feel like a supermini, it feels larger, more like a coupe I guess.

As for the lumpiness, the rev counter is fairly steady, but you can feel the lumpiness when sat idling in the car. It idles somewhere around 850rpm I guess from memory?

Good luck with the car mate,That was my second colour of choice if i hadnt found the iceberg.Stick to optimax, you know it makes sense.

ESP rarely cuts in. Its pretty good and never intrudes. The only time I switch it off is if I want to drive like or nutter or Im running the quarter mile.

Enjoy!

Saw a mint silver 53 plate one at HillPower today, and they look so good.

My valver was actually a bit jealous lol!

I paid 10,845 for an 03 plated 172.
1st Service Done
2 new front tyres

I saw a 51 plated 172 at Fish Brothers Reading for 10,995!! They also had a 53 plated car for 12,995. Makes you wonder how they even get people to look at them.

Taking it up to AutoSport tomorrow, so that should be a nice little run out :)

Its having the effect I wanted..... it makes me smile when I drive it.
