The things we do to buy a house.....

ohh well its back to the cavalier again....wooo hooo.....

Worst thing is that the new owner is 18, and having just written off one willy 3, I fear that mine may go the same way

.....just wish one of the cliosport-ers could have given her a home....sniff sniff

i do share your new-owner concerns. I was equally troubled about who would get my old Alfa. Luckily, it went to an Alfa nut. And nuts are all thats left of it now after an errant lorry destroyed it five months after he bought it.

Its a crime! Id kill him if he wrote that off - love the number plate too!

Are those official renault light covers? I bought some for mine but they seem to be phase 3 cluster fitment - where did you get them from if they are?

Hello mate, that is one sweet motor!! Well looked after by the looks of it!!

ok mate what price are you selling it for!?

Is it totally standard or have you done, many mods to it,

You have to make sure that lad who buys it will promise to look after it! as that is one of the most imaculate ones i have seen!/

it has 174bhp (tested at Power Eng)

Full Magnex System inc Decat, green filter and a magic chip....

Selling for £5350. Has just done 55K miles....this morning....I think thats about right - does everyone else?

she is a beauty

I thought mine was in god condition but that kicks the ass out of mine!!

Well mine isnt a willy, but people mistake it for one, *Which i like a lot* mine is a k plate 1.8 16valve. I have the same prima alloys but in silver u see *Not gold that would be gay!

Its definately a quick one alright....

some guy who was enquiring about buying it said that he had spoken to hillpower, and they said that to get 174bhp it must have had at least £1000 worth of head work....

...my guess is that its one of the better ones...

Fair play dude i am very jealous, bet your very upset now though,

I know sell it and kepp a spare set of keys!! follow him then take it back!! then you have £5350 and a fat motor:eek:;)

No only joking cause then you may go to prison!!:D

guy just came and picked it up....seemed like a nice chap (I take it all back!)

ohh well....end of an era

Think Ill get a 16ver a few months after we move into the new place and get settled in.

Just wish the wife realised what its like to lose my baby...she just laughs..

Its not uncommon to see at least 140bhp at the wheels for the Williams and I think most make more at the fly than the quoted 150bhp (as do a lot of 16Vs). Id be more inclined to quote the ATW power figure, as its always a guess in calculating an at the fly figure.

So what is the ATW figure? You cant measure the at the fly figure without taking the engine out and putting it on a much rarer engine dyno. Not saying that your Willy wasnt making in the region of that figure, but it would have certainly have come from an ATW figure and been multiplied to make an at the fly figure. As we all know, you can never be certain of transmission loss, so if you took the engine out and dynod it, it would be a coincidence or very jammy calculation if it was exactly 174bhp as well. Who knows - if you had shocking transmission loss, then it could be more than 174bhp. The RR place will use the same multiplication factor for all FWD cars, Renault or not. :D

Michael,

Sorry to see this go from the club - was very nice - do I take it I should scrub the 3rd Jan from the diary?

You fool whats buying a house got to do with selling a classic. Either take out a bigger mortgage over a longer period or move up north where houses are cheap as chips. Either way you get to keep the Willy. Im sorry to say this but i think you may regret your decision in a few years and finding a willy in that condition may be Ni on impossible m8. Sorry for not being supportive but from my viewpoint its shear madness id give my right arm for a willy if only i didnt need it to drive;).

Ben. 174bhp was the readout from Power Engineering. Other williams that day gave anything from 125bhp to 155 ish. Mine gave 174bhp. Must be an at the wheels figure. The same way 172s were giving out 160-172 bhp. Dont ask me the ins and outs of it. and I believe that the PowerEng RR is supposed to be one of the most accurate RRs in the country

Paul. I mailed you regarding the 3rd earlier. yep unfortunately I wont be able to bring the car in. Hopefully Ill have a 16ver in the spring taht you can tinker with!

Scribbler. You are obviously not married! :D

Just curious, cheers for that. I think if its an ATW figure then its easily the most powerful F7R engined Clio known - perhaps 200bhp at the fly.

That will be a calculated (innaccurately) at the flywheel figure.

Its as accurately calculated as it can be, and the results can be repeated in different temps and pressures with a tiny variance. (as I proved last year)
