Shocking

Car  UR 197, AB 182 FF
Does anybody else get a bit of a static shock when they shut their car door after they get out? I got quite a buzz from my door yesterday because I didnt touch the door whilst I was still inside, so the whole car grounded through me :S

or is it just me being a weirdo as per usual.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's common to get a shock if you're full of static.

I thought it might have been the shoes, since I mostly wear trainers. I dont mind but flipping heck, a tiny charge like that can make you jump!

I used to get it off my old garage door and in the night you could sometimes see the shock jump! Dreaded opening the damn door!

I've given up touching the metal on my car door when I close it now its that bad.

I must look a right plonker when I get an electric shock closing the door and jump back.

I've had static shocks from doors on previous cars my parents have owned. Not happened yet with the Clio though!

yup get one off mine all the time, esp when its hot, i tend to close the door holding the glass now lol

I get shocks from mine sometimes, not as big as the ones I can get from Hubbys Megane though. Cars really can fight back! Lmfao

The trick to avoid it is, hold the door and then put your feet on the ground. That way you earth the car through your feet rather than your hand.

It really depends on what you're clothes are made of though. I used to get the @rse blown off me when I wore my snowboarding pants... especially after clocking up 150+ miles and then stepping out.
