Shooting Products

Car  Storm Grey 200
Hi there,

Looking to take some photos of stuff, products say the size of a mug.

Out of my lens what would be best?

35mm 2
50mm 1.8
80-200 2.8

Cheers

^ It might do, I'd pick the one with the least distortion. I shoot the products at work using an 85mm TS lens, bugger all distortion and razor sharp - so perfect for the job.

At a guess I'd say the 80-200 would be the one to go for.

Ok, I'll try out the 80-200...

In regards to aperture, Are you wanting something like 5/8? or something that will blur the background (shooting onto white) to make it extra smooth?

It also depends on the size of the product (not as stupid as it sounds). Different focal lengths give you different perspective. Shooting small products with a moderately wide angle produces a very odd looking image. Shooting large products with a wide angle gives a feel for the scale of the product (unlike if you shot it at 200mm for example)
