Niiiice pics, the first thing that came to mind when i saw your title was Shooting the moon in GTA to make it change size lol

what settings did you use on the camera? I've tried a few times but never get a result as clear as yours....plus I'm assuming you have zoomed in and cropped the pic a bit?

yes its only 300mm lense so cropped to get it full image you gonna need alot o zoom 800+

handheld
300mm
1/500sec
f8
iso-400

in full manual

the moon is supprisingly bright !

thats the problem I was having...just kept coming out as a bright white circle! lol I managed to get a few after playing with thw shutter speed (can't remember wht I ended up with now) but still not as defined as yours..

thanks for the info, I'll give it another go at some point!

Great shots! A bit of USM and its very sharp.

Rhino172 - You need to shoot fully manual unless your camera has a spot meter as it will see lots of dark with a small bright blob and choose to expose for the dark and blow out the moon. Stopping the lens down to a higher f/number (f8 - f11) will help give you a sharper image as well...
