Should i avoid greenstuff?

  Titanium 182
How bad really are greenstuff? ive heared horror stories of bad brake fade etc.
Any other alternatives to greenstuff for around the same price?

I have greenstuf..they are rubbish imo. Sometimes I feel like im not going to stop!

Once they are finished (which is hopefully soon) they will be getting repalced!

I've got green on....came with car....won't be using again. Ferodo stuff next for me.

EBC are also the dust kings.

  Whichever has fuel
I had Green stuff on my Rover turbo and they disintegrated into pieces.

I had Yellows on my M3 (recomended) and they melted on a track day

I had Reds on a track car and they were 'Average' once hot.

Tbh, i'd avoid. Renault spec stuff is more than adequate on the road, and Brembo disc/DS2500 pad is fine for track.

All imo of course.

for road use I dont fink they are that bad, but not great, but if you are planning to go on a trackday, from what I have heard I would stay well away

was out on track yesterday with them (HC discs, braided lines). coming into a corner and hard on the brakes I could get next to no bite and when they did grip it seemed to vary side to side so the car would wander heavily. absolute sh!te.

even on the road I could exhibit (albeit to a lesser extent) the same characteristics. Speaking to a mate of mine earlier who tracks an S3 and used them said his done exactly the same, changed to 2500s problem gone.

they were bedded in correctly and dont seem to be glazed etc.

Mine were fantastic on the track and are pretty good on the road once warm though they arn't terrible when cold they just need a few warm up stops in the morning.

I bedded mine in by doing 8 hard stops from 70mph to 10mph to get them really really hot and then drove home gently to let them cool slowly.

I think EBC must produce good and bad batches of pads as for every person that likes them theres one that hates them!

Pretty much the same as my experience..especially at Rockingham when I was at FCS.

  Not got a car
I dont like greenstuff, Gave me way to much brake fade with Ferodo (sp) discs, i nearly went over the round about instead of round it. Took them out after a month

quite simply the worst thing you can fit to your car. I've disintegrated 3 sets of greens, on 3 different cars, only one set purchased by me i'll add. That's with road use only.

A set of £9 ACdelco pads was a huge improvement

Yellowstuff, aren't that bad, they were on the car when i bought it earlier this year, i've done 8 trackdays on them, Only the fcs at Rockingham pushed them to the limit, they were fine, so much so that the heat they generated turned them brown by the end of the day, it also removed most of the pad friction material.
They've just made way for a set of pf97's ready for cadwell in a few weeks.

No matter what, how or where you use your car, i'd always go for the best brakes and tyres available. You'll be glad you did when you avoid an accident ;)

Never had problems with my RedStuff pads either. They have lasted ages - easily 20k+ and there is still shedloads left on them. The only significant wear I had was on the inner rear pad - but as a replacement set was around the £30, it hardly breaks the bank. :)

I fitted mine at exactly the same time as a new set of EBC discs all around. Whether or not that makes a difference compared to EBC pads on OEM (or other manufacturers' discs), I couldn't really say.

Good enough for normal driving, but really impressive when some heat gets into them.

I have greenstuff, and they were s**t for the first 2k miles - seem to be getting a bit better now tbh .

No noise on braking at all!!

lots of different opinions, but got to agree with most on here i had yellow stuff with grooved discs and they were dog s**t never gripped, had to swirve once so i didn't go into back of someone they were that crap, and they didn't last 2 minutes seem to be on and back off in no time got my crap brakes on at minute and they seem better and they just budgets to keep my going and get through MOT which passed straight up, so i'm getting carbon brembo's next with the DS2500 :)

I had them (many years ago) on a Mondeo ST24 (front only) which was enthusiastically driven on road only. They worked well for me.

Next to no dust and worked well from dead cold.

I think the formulation has changed a few times over the years? They cost a lot in Australia and I'd be buying something different now (perhaps even Lucas/ TRW for a lot less $$$?) but back around 2002 they were considered a decent pad.

Heard a lot of bad stuff about greenstuff and EBC. I took a chance and bought Yellowsuff for my track 182 since I was not happy with the bite and wear of my DS2500. Yellowstuff is a far better track pad than the Ferodo's IMO. Poor bite when cold but bites hard when hot, also have very low wear, no "squeal" when braking, and not that much brake dust.

What finaly made me give EBC a chance was the low price and the fact that the Swedish/Nordic Camaro Cup cars run these pads with very good results.
