I shamelessly stole this idea after seeing @Ricardos do it on here and Instagram. It made me think what I was driving 10 years ago, and everything I've had since which, as it turns out, is quite a lot! I had loads of cars while I was at uni but, on this day in 2010, I was driving a modified Volvo 850 T-5:

That was a bit ambitious for a student sadly and, when a chance to buy a car like my very first one came up, I sold the Volvo and bought it; an Escort Equipe. I had plans to fit a Zetec turbo into it, but it never happened.

The above ended up off the road for a while, so I had a few short-termers during that time, starting with a 2.0 Zetec powered Escort Mexico, which I bought for next to nothing, used for a few months and then broke for a profit:

I then tried to be sensible and bought a diesel Vectra. Sadly the clutch slave cylinder was on its way out, so I moved it on again:

After that low point, I decided to try something a bit different and bought a Civic SR. It was quite impressive in many ways (120-odd bhp from a 1.6 SOHC engine). Didn't keep it that long, but it was ok. Needed better wheels though.

Bought a cheap RS2000 after that:

Around this time I had another stop-gap car; a brown Mondeo Ghia X. Only cost £250 and lasted a while:

With uni coming to an end, I had it in mind to build myself a rally car. A friend was breaking an Escort, but the shell was mint, so I bought it. Threw some odd bumpers on it so it was mobile, but annoyingly I lost my storage, so it had to go again. A shame, it was a really tidy car, despite the bumpers making it look shoddy.

I also bought a better daily now I was working; an ST220:

It was also around this time that I bought the rally Escort. Spent five years rebuilding it, only sold it this summer:

Once the ST220 got a bit leggy, I thought I would be sensible and buy a nice big estate car. It was comfortable and economical enough, but god it was dull...

...so I decided to be irresponsible, which is where I discovered Renaults, with a 172 Cup. Still my favourite of all the cars I've owned:

Another rally car joined the stable; an ex-works Escort F2 car. I had it painted, but it needs putting together:

I was a bit bored of running old cars by this time, so treated myself to a Golf R on lease. Only had it a year, which was enough to be honest. A very capable car, but a bit dull in my view.

Chopped that in for the car I should have got in the first place; an RS Mégane:

Unfortunately, the Meg had to make way for something that could tow the rally car. I decided to go a bit cheaper at the same time, so bought a 2.5T Mondeo. It got written off by some silly little tart in a Fiesta after a few months, but I didn't really gel with it to be honest.

With the Mondeo dead, I needed a car quickly. I couldn't be bothered to travel, so just bought something local, which turned out to be a Vectra. Pretty dull, but it looked fairly reasonable in SRI XP trim.

Being a Vauxhall, the gearbox packed up, so I sold it on and bought the current daily in August; an RB 197:

God only knows what the next decade will bring, especially with the way the car industry is going. I guess there's a fair chance that I will buy my first hybrid or electric car. I also need to get myself back in a rally car, which will most likely be a MK7 Fiesta.

Anyway, would be good to see other people's decade in cars - I'm sure there must be some interesting ones!

Definitely. Always had a soft spot for Fords. Love how you can Rob bits from the parts bin and make a pretty capable car. Parts were so easily interchangeable on the older stuff.

First off was my 1.8tdci focus from 2010-2012

I sold the focus for a Clio 197 in 2012 :-

In 2013 I sold the 197 and bought a Focus ST MP260

In 2015 I traded the ST in for a Clio 200edc and also did my bike test

In 2017 I then sold the 200edc and bought a vw t4:-

In 2018 I bought a T5.1 and a GSXR600 and sold my T4 :-

2019 the T4 went and I bought a zx636 track bike :-

That's everything in the last decade.

Ok so here’s mine. I had the gsi when I was 19 and almost covered 2 decades of ownership! Started life as a standard gsi and ended up as a 460hp 174mph capable gsi.

My first cup came along in 2010 as a daily driver. Had a/c too and was promptly taken to the Nurburgring as the gsi was off the road.

Loved that cup, so I brought a ‘proper’ one without a/c and transformed it into a 230bhp capable track car

It decided to s**t a driveshaft at the Nurburgring and left me stranded so it was stripped for parts.

Along came FKU. Great car and plenty of entertainment had in that one!

And the current steed!

Second car - dCi 100 which I made a full rep. Had it until 2017

First Monaco - Got it for £475 as it had some damage

Third one came along shortly after and will be staying forever. Bought it for £400 with a slipped cambelt

Then the Megane arrived

And then another arrived🤦‍♂️

I've had 6 other clios, 2 Seat Leon's, 1 Ford Focus and another Ford Ka too but I either bought them to sell on or to break

Back in 2010 I bought my 182 for the first time.
8k mile old minter. Owned it less than 6 weeks before it was out to the Ring for the first time that would become pretty much Its 2nd home.

Also owned my Impreza. Owned since I was 21. Home built 575bhp road car. Broke it this year after 14 years of ownership

Sold the Clio in 2015 for what I thought was an upgrade to a Mini GP. Absolute shitbox, hated it.

Sold the GP to pursue my Porsche dream in 2016. Bought my Cayman R.

Needed a daily so ended up with a cheap 1 owner ST150.

July 2019 I swapped my ST for my original Clio 182. I’ve set about refreshing it since.

After the kids were grown up and I bought them both a Clio to learn in I couldn't decide what to get...
Bought a C4 VTS as a stop gap...

Written off the same year...

I really liked it so got another one, this time with a pan roof...

Then after drinking too much while watching Ronin, I bought an XM V6...

Which was handy to use as the C4 got written off at 180k miles in my work car park...

I liked it so much I spent far too much to have it fixed, but it was never a great paint job and after the clutch went and was replaced then the gearbox input shaft bearing went at 197K miles I scrapped it and flew to Inverness to drive this back home to Sussex...

Even though this one was exactly the same as the last one only less miles and 2 years newer, I never really liked it as much so when daughter no.2's Clio was written off, I gave it to her and bought this...

I know, I should get out more...

Not much to tell really, got the Clio in 2007 so started the decade with that, it's been my daily until this year but it was getting a little too temperamental to carry on subjecting it to all weathers and crawling in rush hour traffic, so now I just enjoy it as a toy and go blasting in it, i'll never get rid of this car it's family.

In October 2017 I bought a Mazda 323F 1.8 sport as a winter hack while @HMS Derv Destroyer (Ryan) pulled the Clio's engine to do belts, pullys and loads of other sh*t I can't remember, it wasn't a bad car the previous owner had spent a fair few quid on it and it came with massive amounts of receipts and service history, but that didn't stop it from sh*tting it's water pump after 2 months, after Ryan fixed it he told me to get rid as soon as because on close inspection of the engine it looked like a blind man had worked in it with his feet, so I flogged it for a tenner more than I bought it for in the spring of 2018.

Technically not my car as I bought it for my Mum, but after the Mazda and while the Clio was still at the garage I was using her Passat 1.8 20V turbo, she was in hospital for most of that year so no point in letting it just sit there, she still has it and I really like this car it's like driving around in an arm chair, it quicker than you'd think and with the seats folded down it has the load capacity of a small van.

Then at the start of this year I bought a 320D off @Short Legs which is now my daily, comfy, smooth and will fit a full grown German Shepherd in the boot.

My second car, still love the paint. Sold it to @Daniel after I'd ruined it. Car I've owned for the longest time by a long, long way. Don't think I'll ever love owning a car ever again after this one

2012 - 2014 Mondeo ST220 Estate

Miss the strugglebus still, but wanted to get something faster and that looked a bit nicer on the driveway

2014 - 2016 E46 M3

Great car when it wasn't broken, sadly had one awful memory attached to it so it was sold on too soon.

2016 - 2017 Golf R32

Bane of my f**king existence. I loathe owning a car at this point because of this car. Best sounding car I've owned though, and was great fun when it worked (which was rare). Sold to free up cash for a bike purchase.

2017 - 2019 Civic Type-R

Hastily bought, had annoying problems (mainly with the AC that I took forever to fix). Good at what I needed it to be (a stop gap until I moved house)

2019 - Present Merc E63

Fastest car I've ever owned. On paper probably the best car I've ever owned, but my heart is way more into bikes nowadays so it'll be gone this year no doubt. Hopefully I'll buy something other than a silver car to replace it.

Passed my bike test in 2017 so I've had the following..

2017 - 2018 Street Triple R

Arrived broken and with several electrical issues that repeatedly tried to kill me. Made fantastic noises but a 350 mile round trip on a motorway journey sealed its fate and it went for something more my speed

2018 - Present F800GT

I've done more mileage on this in the 18 months I've owned it than the Golf, Civic and Merc combined. Love the thing, but it'll be gone in the spring for something new and exciting

2012 - 2013. Back in to a PH1.

2013 - 2014. The Mondeo st24. Leaked terribly but was a great drive.

2014 - 2019. My Petrol Blue. Sold it back in October.

Whilst owning the PB I also had : 106 gti, micra, astra.

2019 - Current. Jaguar XF. Sadly no picture.
