Sidelight fuse keeps blowing

  182
I'm having a problem with the 10A fuse for the sidelights, the n/s front and rear sidelight are not working and the fuse keeps blowing. i have tried changing both bulbs incase of a dodgy bulb but it keeps doing it.

I presume i'm gonna have to check the earths and a wire short?

any ideas?

any rust in the rear connection blocks?

after that , dissconnect all of them and try one at at time and see when fuse blows

right then, took out all the sidelights. checked. still blowing a fuse. noticed that reg light contacts had corroded like mad so removed that. still blowing. checked that all the contacts on the plugs had were connected to earth with a mutlimeter and disconnected the rear harness and it is still blowing.......

so far i have concluded nothing! lol

whatever it is it is coming from the front half of the car, and of course the clocks back light doesnt work

anybody happen to know which wire is the live for the back of the clocks?

or any suggestions?

ive wiggled all the realays too and you can hear them clicking when sidelight switch is working so that is ok??

i know back of dials where on a seperate fuse, have you checked for corrosion on the rear cluster connections as these often get water in.

did you remove the reg light totally back to wires and not just take bulb out?

Disconnected the whole rear harness mate at the connector under the carpet. Will disconnect it at the bulk head next. Lol. Sounds crazy but the car is in bits anyway. It's just everything else is working fine. The clock lights arnt on but I thought it was coz it was on the same fuse?
