Silenced Decat?????

Iv been thinking about putting a silenced decat on my 172. Currently iv got a Yozzasport (quiet) road system on there at the moment and wondered what a silenced decat would sound like on my car. Also iv heard that fitting a decat messes about with the ecu so would it best to get my decat then BMC filter then fit it then get it remapped or can you just wack it on and it be alrite?

I have got k-tec stelth with silenced decat it is alittle loud but the performance is great. last time at castle combe the noise test was 95db not sure if this is louder than yours.Just something to compare with

I got a silenced decat and a powerflow stealth cat back. Its still loud but the car feels MUCH better! Recently had my cat put back on for MOT and not had chance to swap back to the decat but I cant wait, car feels like s**t without it now.

decats do make a performance difference you will feel IMO Nothing dramatic, but cost effective for sure.
Unsilenced decats flow better, TBH, if you want a silenced one, Knock the sh1t out of the cat you have and buy a scrap spare.

Are silenced and unsilenced not the same? Mine just looks like regular decat with a outside section welded on. Would have thought they would flow the same.

Nah the silenced de-cat will slow the flow down slighty to muffle the sound.
