Silvertec bulbs

Can these silvertec bulbs for mk2 ph2 headlights be bought from halfords? If so, which are the right ones? there are 3 at the bottom with different codes... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd

what you want is the offset pin style
in the section by the bulbs for halfords there should be flip style cataloughe mounted on the shelf and you can find a clio and it will give you the codes for all of the bulbs the clio takes. then just find the code on the shelf and that will be the ones!

ok mate, The codes are BU501S, BU581S, BU343S, so i take it they are for all different cars. This is taken from the website just under the BULBS section, so i take it one of these 3 codes will fit the clio?

Not sure about the codes but, as said, there'll be a flip page catalogue to check what you need.

Offset pins mean that the pins are at, say 2 and 10 o'clock, instead of 3 and 9 (if you were looking at a clockface...).

Yeah they'll state it on the box, but they normally come in clear packaging anyway so you can see.

They'll still need to be the right type of bulb though, as there are different fitting offset bulbs for different manufacturers and models, but it'll become apparent when you have a look in their catalogue thing...

I THINK you need PY21W 581.

just been to halfords and they didnt have any of the right ones! got home and thought i would see how i change them anyway, and i havnt got a clue how to do it, could somebody explain how i change them when i eventually get some...

i think the holders just twist out then the bulbs twists out too.

yes i think they are the same as the front ones but the best way is just get to halfords, pull one front indicator bulb out and one rear one then you can go in and find the correct ones!

Rear indicators are exactly the same bulbs.

You need two packs of BU581S.

Rears are much easier than the fronts - the whole light unit just unclips.

The fronts can be tricky, if you've not already had a look at them. They can be tight to get to, and sometimes are a bit stiff.
