Single click remote assistance

  Rav4
Just thought I would share this with you, for system admins etc

Basically through working, I have come to realise that remote assistance and configuring VNC on every machine that I work on is time consuming, someone changes the password, firewall being gash, etc

This tool does not require the client to have any software installed and will work in 95% of the cases, all that you require is to have VNC listener installed on your machine and obviously configure the password.

Here is some info on it:

Here is some detailed info:

Just trying to work it out on OSX.

Hopefully this might be handy for someone, apologies if it has been mentioned on here before.

What I have done on our company website is created a support link, with instructions to the client on how to run it (please note it does not install it on the client machine)

Then on our clients servers, with their permission, I have modified their group policy, so on internet explorer if you go to the help section, then online help, it takes them directly to the support section of our website.

Easy peasy that was. Just tested it on a couple of servers worked a treat. I have been meaning to research something like this before but never got round to it

Thats a cracking idea. Any pointers on what part of GP you changed?

I have added it onto the Intranet on the clients that are running Server 2003 SBS

Comps being gash,

If you go to GP editor, Internet Explorer Maintenace, URLS, Important URLs.

Tick "customise online support....."

Input the URL.

Update GP and there we are.
