NIMBUS RS200FF
Ok... just having a bit of a gripe and looking for some experienced heads to lay it on the line for me:
Having had almost every conceivable part of the front end changed/checked to try and solve the new mystery knocking coming from the n/s front, I now know what the issue has been all along.
it's the swivel hub joint.
This was suggested when I had a lurch when turning right, but following new rack bushes and tires, it seemed fine.
I know this is a common one, but what sort of experiences have you guys had with getting these changed by your local mechanics?
My guys have sat scratching their heads/arses for a couple of days, have only just managed to source the parts from Renault direct and have now said it's not likely to get done until Thursday/Friday as "it's a pig of a job".
These same guys took 3 weeks to fit konis to my mx5, for what it's worth.
have I just lumbered myself with a bunch of morons or is this really a tricky job that's likely to cost me a f*ckton in labour costs?
In a bit of a bind as it's too dangerous to drive it home to my preferred mechanic so having to use these guys as they're close to work...
oh - and they've said it's going to cost me £280+vat+labour "at least"
thoughts?
