Sky Broadband & Intel MacPros?!

Car  Weeman sucks ****
Anyone got Sky broadband and one of the new Intel macbook pros? My housemate's just got one and he can't log onto our wireless router at home. I know a few other people have had trouble using wireless with these laptops.

And as we're going to change to sky, just wondered?

Cheers

i dont know about sky but some broadband providers will not allow access to mac', i dont know about sky you would have to view there technical pages

strange.

There should be no reason why you should be denied access because you are using a mac. There must be a setting that you are doing wrong, a wrong setting or something.

Phone up sky help and they will go through all the settings with you. They are good.

We have tried everything with our router. it's a 3com 11g, that's all I know and the contract is with virgin broadband.

His old powerbook works aswell as mine and the other 5 I've encrypted on it. We've tried it with no encryption and you name it.

Obviously, it works with a cat 5 no problem.

I sh1t it!

strange.

Personally I find encryption a whole bunch of w**k.

I just turn off the SSID and only accept the mac address from the comps i want to use.

...... tis a way around it.

Hi, I have had sky broadband for over 5 months, perfect all the time, wireless connection no problem, so pleased given all the negative press it received originally. I was paying £17.99pm now it is free, and cannot see what I was paying for!

No problems at all recommending them.

Not ideal, Heh.

Why not.

( i dont mean all encryption is w**k, simply that the basic ones can be cracked easily, and that if someone really wants ur info, they can get it. )
