anybody actually done this? ive got the bits, but just wondered if anyone has already done it?
or know of a cheap place for the HDD's?

ive got to replace a faulty HDD in one and i thought i might as well upgrade the other to a 250 gig

My brother did it for my dad. If you do a quick search on google there is a website with guides for whichever model of box you have. Just a case of swapping it then forcing your box to do a new installation, the rest is done automatically. (not sure if the HD needs formatting in a PC first)

yeh, ive got the guides etc. just wondered if anyone here had done it.

I replaced my broken hdd with an old 40gb hard drive i had lying about. Works like a dream if you follow the guides. Only problem is if you use a 7200rpm (as opposed to the 5400rpm standard) they whine like hell! It's pretty much like having a computer on in the room.
