Slave cylinder replacement - 197

  197
Hi guys,

Got a small niggle with my 197 in that the clutch pedal is really quite stiff - makes your leg ache sometimes in traffic! Clutch operation itself is fine; no slipping and all gears engage fine - gear changes are a bit stiff and crunchy from cold but fine once warmed for a few minutes so want to try swapping out the slave to see if that sorts it.

May be a daft question but can I swap out the slave cylinder independently or will I need to swap the clutch out too?

Cheers

Enjoy that job! Doing one on an R26 today and I can't wait to start the bleeding process.

Yeah and thanks... Done a few before and it's THE stupidest design slave ever.

My mechanic has one and is PROPER struggling with the bleeding of it.

I think he may set fire to it very soon.

Cheers guys.

Probably won't bother if it means the box coming off to be honest - nothing wrong with it (yet) - more of an annoyance.

Thanks.
