Sloppy Gear changes and crunching into 3rd!

Right then,
For about a week or so gear changes have been a bit lumpy and every now and then on down shift it will crunch when going into 3rd and 1st. Also clutch pedal seems a bit stiff. Im suspecting clutch but im aware that some valver gearboxes arent too clever!

Anyone help?

mine is crunching from first to 2nd mate said its the syncro mesh or syncro rings or somthing? because mine is ex driving school and 1st and 2nd are the most common used gears, how many miles has your gearbox done and has it had much abuse?

Clutches are stiff anyway,

Maybe the cable needs adjusting? It might not be depressing fully..

Mileage its about 80k same as the engine. Had similar symptoms on my 1.4 before clutch, cable and pedal nearly came through the Firewall!!

any tips for getting clutch cable off?? tried myself getting it off the gearbox could'nt manage it!

Mine got stiff and snapped a cable.. ()

Changed clutch and it's mint now

You don't realise how use you get to them being crap.

Its crap isnt it. Probably the porridge engine mounts letting the engine move to much

Mine too but think my clutch is just about ready to give up. Done well though on 75k!

Never raced or rallied either
