Sloppy gearbox and crunching into 1st

  Clio cup 172
Ok so I've noticed the small bush on the dog bone is perished so I am going to polybush it, hopefully that will get rid of crunching in 1st. If I push into 1st slowly whilst car ain't moving, there's no crunching at all so must be dodgy do g bone mount.

Also I noticed my gearstick moves about in all directions when in or out of gear. Not too much movement but enough to say it's sloppy. Whilst checking dog one, I noticed the black bar (gearbox linkage) is very loose underneath the car.

What's the most common cause of this?
I like my car is be very tight and this is ruining my experience of driving it for me at the minute

Cheers

Under the gear stick (viewed from below the car with the heat shield out of the way) are an orange plastic bush and a rubber piece at the base of the gear stick where it joins the linkage bar. I replaced the bush (available from Renault) hoping that would fix the sloppy action on mine, it didn't. I therefore think it is the rubber piece which on mine is split, I could be wrong.

The worn items won't be helping with regard to the crunching into first, but there's no way to rule out if 1st gear synchros are dead until the worn items are replaced.

If it's nailed the synchros your in bother as its a box strip replacement. You also need to factor in that you can no longer get the original design synchros from Renault, and requires the replacement of the entire 1st/2nd gear section.
