Slow clio, fast CTR.

I know its been discussed many times before but after badly losing to one, my car now feels slow. LOL. I know i am rubbish at changing gear but surely they arent that much faster??

Anyone else had a play with one?

CTR isn't exactly a rocket.

Drivers make all the difference remember if you're next to each other going through 3 gears, if you take your time with each one and he smashed the s**t out of his, he'll pull away.

Yeh i know, i've always been rubbish at changing fast though. 172s always keep up with me no probs :eek:

well thay have got around 212bhp havnt they thats lyk 30 more than a 182... 1 kinda obliterated me on my driving lesson yesterday the v-tec rely did kick in lol
 
All CTRS's are 197 im not sure if its PS or HP. Its probably easier to change gear faster in the CTR as the gear box is much nicer.

well thay have got around 212bhp havnt they thats lyk 30 more than a 182... 1 kinda obliterated me on my driving lesson yesterday the v-tec rely did kick in lol

Quite sure its not 212bhp. Think their just a shade under 200bhp, but think they are slightly heavier than the 182.

You might have got the 212bhp from Forza lol, swear I've seen it as 212 on there. But dont forget they also have the 197 as having 197bhp :D.

JDM EP3's are 212hp and have an LSD, HID's amongst other extras. K20C, same as the DC5 Integra

UK EP3 has 197hp and uses the fed-spec K20 due to emissions, as used in the US-spec Civic Si but with a few differences and not all had aircon

tbh, i've had squirts with a UK car and there was nothing in it.... the fella even acknowledged me afterwards, rare for a Jap driver. lol
 
I haven't driven a 1*2 for some time so I can't remember the peak time to change, if its anything like my car it goes supersonic at 5k and hits the limiter at circa 7k, if im going for it I usually let it rev to about 6.5k so get ready around 6k. Soon as it hits that sweet spot, dip the clutch and slam it into the next gear.

After going out in a EG VTI the other day its safe to say they would rinse an EP or 1*2!!!

nah, what you need is an EK9 with a K20C lump/LSD and a Jackson Racing supercharger. :evil:

edit - just seen Dan's post! ...he knows the fcuking score.

Use all available revs in 1st and 2nd, then shift a little earlier in 3rd and hold onto 4th unless you're going to use 5th in which case shift the same time (a few hundred rpm before the limit).

That's my advice and I don't even own a 182!

The one i went out in was on coilovers, TEG LSD, all the camber arms and anti roll bars done and everything. Fanimold, well basic breathing mods.

I felt sick when i got out! LOL it was an experience....

I think there 158bhp standard and im sure there under a ton in weight.

They ALL put out 158bhp bog standard too apparently unlike the 182 (mine give 166bhp as standard and that was one of the most powerfull standard ones of the day).

So straight away the power to weight ratio in the civic is better aint it...

It was an EG6 VTI with the B16A2 and a LSD off an integra he said....

When i've sold the quicksilver (its nearly done now) im 90% certain im going to get one for a second car. This lads had 120k miles on it, original engine and gearbox and pulled like a train! And the sound, fuckin awesome! Like a 600CC bike :D

In all of my 172's i've never lost to a CTR. I've had modded ones and standard ones and i've always won the great 'Ring Road Race' lol

DC5 has K20A; EP3 has K20A2.
