yup my mac is giving me grief too. lol
I have blueyonder bband and i recently umplugged it from my mac to set up my xbox online.
Not the mac wont start up correctly.
I have a flashing pic of a globe in the middle of the screen...
That will eventually go and is replaced by a small pic of a folder with a ? on it.
It flashes between that and and a pic of the osx logo.
It will finally load but takes about 5 min.
The keys are locked buring this flashing bit...

Phew!
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks iain

but macs never have problems?!?!!? hahahaha i know thats a useless post and i don't know the answer for which i apologise but this did make me laugh after having so many discussions with people who all cling on to the argument that "macs just work". I'm sure one of the fanboys can help you though mate.

  A blue one.
Here's a non-trolling response.

A two second google revealed this:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106464

With instructions on how to fix it. Sounds like you're running a very old version of OS X, might want to consider upgrading to a newer version and just migrate your use account over, 1 button click when installing an update, everything will be seamless and as it was in your old os x installation.
