smooth rider!

hey guys, over the last month or so the 182 has started to do something strange, usually if im sat in slow moving traffic you can keep the car in 1st and let go of everything and the car will pull slowly and smoothly by itself. but recently if i let off everythng it still pulls slowly as normal but it has started to become juddery. it will sort of lean forward then back then do the same again unless i apply a small amount of throttle, i emphasise the word small, as if i apply more than say 1/8th of full throttle the car kangaroos like it sometimes does on cold starts. this happens when the car is warm btw, any suggestions welcome, thanks

Isn't that just cos the car is stalling. You need revs to move forward in gear. Your clutch not fucked.

clutch seems ok, it doesnt stall or try to it just judders like bounces if you will, it will carry on going forward just juddery, you should be able to let go of everything in any car really without it stalling, it used to be fine, just recently it wont do it.

I'm not sure I get what ya mean. Do ya mean when your coasting down a hill or something cos if I was in traffic and let off everything in first it would just stall like every car unless ya had a choke which kept the revs up abit.

if ur going like 5mph or less in 1st in practically any car and let go of everything the car will still keep going, it shouldnt stall at all. u also shouldnt need any revs at all to set off if ur smooth and on a flat surfce. especially in a small car. i dont do that tho but it can be done, what im saying is that the car no longer pulls smoothly on its own whereas it used to, like other cars i have owned/driven. the works van even pulls smoothly and its lugging 3tonnes around.

could you have been on a hill (even a slight gradient)??

or check your tyre preassures,

my car will coast along fine in first, but its only just above the juddery point, any hill or anything and itll stall.

clean out your throttle body??

it does it anytime i do it now, like i say it never used to. wil give the throttle body cleaning a try n see what happens, u dont happen to know if the 182 needs a new gasket on th TB. want to take it fully off to clean it properly.

throttle body cleaning worked a treat, the car is back to normal. any1 else who has a similar issue give the TB a good clean out.
