Smooth Tailgate



  Petrol Blue 182.
Doe's anyone know how to go about smoothing the tailgate? i know that it involes welding in plates, but im not sure on what to do about boot relase button? i want the whole boot flushed but im not sure what will happen with the boot release mechanism? wether it can stay with out no button on the boot as im able to relase it from the button on the inside, but will it still lock with no button on the exterior? thanks

u need to get some solenoids which can be purchased on ebay. i smoothed my boot on my last car and i had the button around my dash which when pressed popd the boot. I had it connected to the ignition which makes the boot locked at all times.

Dont smooth the whole boot just smooth of the handle/reno badge and take badges of looks much better.

is there not sum law about your boot haveing to open as an escape hach, or has sum one been telling me porkys

so keep the indentation where the number plate fits? has anyone got any pictures of this?

Thats the only pic i can find on russ`s clio looks better than smoothing the whole tailgate just smooth of the rear handle and take badges of bud alot easier​

yeah my dads a sprayer/body panel beater and all the other s**t so im going to get my dad to do that to my boot in the next few weeks for me looks mint.

Defo keep the plate where it is otherwise you'll need to retro fit a number plate light which will look awful if its not the factory one mounted in the top of bumper
