Snap/creak whilst steering.

Over a couple months a creak/snap has appeared mainly when i dry steer. I recently installed lowering springs and new top mounts as they were both gone.
Any help would be appreciated.

were top mounts oe?
I had something that sounded similar having fitted Ktec's, creaking surfaced after about 6 months, did my head in...
went to the trouble of taking the front suspension to bilstein for a refirb, back on, still got the noise.
try a few drops of oil in the top mount - it's virtually free, and complete cured my problem, and saves one feeling like a lummox having spent 100 plus pounds on a refirb.....

Top mount bearing loose, knackered or not correctly seated

Recently had a look at it, turns out the rack mounts were quite loose and wasn't fitted correctly by one of the previous owners.
