snow foam and super spray

what do i do?? how much snow foam do i put into the plastic bottle of the super spray?? there are no instructions!!!!!

hellllppppp!!

jamie

I mix the snow foam either 2:1 or 4:1 using the superspray depending on how much surface dirt is on the car.

But will be looking into a glimmor as i dont think the superspray even comes close, but thats just imo

About 1/3 to 1/2 mate. Use warm water too it works much better that way.

I do:

Rinse the car well with water.
Cover with foam.
Rinse.
Cover with foam.
Wash with mitt using 3 bucket method (at least this time of year, car is filthy!)
Rinse

I love my gilmour, i've tried both, wish i'd went for the gilmour to start with, i gave the superspray i had to my mate...its toss..

The gilmour produces proper foam, none of the 'spit' looking foam that the superspray foam produces..

yeah just tried it alan, will post pics in a sec but really isnt worth the 9 quid. dad and i looked at each other and went, "so . . . karcher once the shops are open again yeah??" lol

I think for getting a decent amount of suds on the car its pretty good...don't know why people slate it as only seems marginally less suds than the images I have seen using the Gilmour, the Karcher is the way to go though. Get the Autobrite foam lance though Jamies its meant to be better than the Karcher.

that was the reason for going for the super spray ross, 8.95. xmas presents came to quite a bit for car detailing stuff so i couldnt afford the 50 for anything bigger, plus the water purifier!!

ah thanks for the advice lad, how comes its better? more foam or just better build quality?

The foam on the gilmour for me just didn't stay on the car like I'd seen in pictures whatever I tried so, the spray just seemed to have too much water in it. The foam lance seems to look much better, hope it is anyway.

I use a sprayer to put on some citrus wash first to loose the dirt in the mean time and that seems to do a decent job.

Tho i see where most who go for the SS over the gilmour are coming from, for 9£ its not that bad..

Water filter is next on my list...no need for drying..

yeah likewise alan, dad just wants to spray on spray off and drive the damn thing. in his words! i enjoy taking the time with it!

Yeah for me next on the list is the AB foam lance then the water purifier, although won't get that until I finish uni towards the summer. In fact I might even wait until Easter at least for the foam lance as can't use my own washer up in Leeds.

Jamie - the AB foam lance is meant to have better results over the Karcher, and the heavy duty version (the one to go for) is apparently very robust. Not to say the Karcher one would be bad, just the AB one is better by all accounts.

Yeah drying is one part I hate. Plus its really annoying on the Clio water dribbles continuosly from the rear windows down the rear quarters (mainly on the right for some reason?!) and when you go to open a door or boot you always get a few water drops that need to be wiped up or else they dry, can be very annoying in the summer especially. Drying can also cause light swirl marks even if you are very carefull.

So basically yeah, filter is the way to go!

Marring is often casued by the drying stage so hopefully a water filter will help solve this problem.

Yep, and saves time. Also in the summer can't tackle a black car on a hot day as no matter how fast you work get calcium deposits where the water evaporates (I live in a very hard water area) which is an absolute mare to work around, and just really annoys me.

It even got to the stage this summer where I spent ages filling up the Brita and filling a couple of buckets!
