snow foam help!!

Need some help here guys,

Just bought myself all of the stuff I need to snow foam my car,

Halfords hp2000 pressure washer
Super snow foam
Snow foam lance

Just been out onto the drive and used it for the first time, I can honestly say there was no difference what so ever!!

I followed the instructions on the bottle of snow foam and mixed it with a ratio of around 20:1. When I snow foamed the car, it went on a treat, just like I had seen in all of peoples photos. It stuck to my car for around 8 mins really before it started to dry a little, so I power washed it of and waited for the results...

Nothing! As the car dried I could still see loads of dirt on the car, I have now left it to fully dry and it looks exactly the same!!

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be great as I am thinking this was a waste of my money.

Steve

I have found a million threads on cleanmycar.com and various other forums and sites, their results seem brilliant, hence why I bought mine, but no joy at all for me.

snowfoam doesnt clean the car on its own lads, it only helps to break up the contaminants (sp) to hinder any swirls you put into the car from hand cleaning, you have to still hand wash the car after

lol , the snow foam is there to loosen the dirt and remove caked on dirt before touching it with a MITT to stop you dragging dirt across the paint creating swirls etc etc

but those pictures in that thread dont show any after photos, and tbh his car dont look too dirty before he snow foamed it anyway, tbh if you want decent results, you need to keep it clean and it also needs a polish and wax

i was under the impression it wasnt meant to clean it for you just release some of the ground on dirt.

Also the more well waxed your car is the easier this proces will be.

the car is well waxed.

I used about 25ml of snow foam in a 1 litre bottle, just as the container says. I used warm water to fill the bottle. The water going into the pressure washer is cold, and cold coming out.

youll still see a light layer of dirt after hosing off, but it should loosen the bulky s**t to make washing a more pleasant experience for the paint.

I have the one litre snow foam bottle, i pour about a inch or so or snow foam, and a splash of Megs shampoo +

I have just looked at your pics that I asked for, they are great cheers pal.

Anymore advice dude, my car looks like it hasn't been touched at all, I don't really understand.

Well it was quite dirty, i have quite a powerful Karcher PW that and the fact it's silver probably helps.

How dirty was the car before you started mate and what foam did you use??

Quite dirty. when those pics were taken i was using the standard snow foam from I4detailing :)

Car was dirty but nothing bad, it gets cleaned once a week and I don't go off roading ;)

I'm just in the process of doing my bros car, which is in the same state as mine really, will post some pics up in a bit.

It's super snow foam I'm using.

I snow foam mine and love the results.

i4detaling own snow foam, mixed at either 50ml to a litre or 100ml, depends on dirt. Warm water and a way I go, leave it on 5 mins rinse, then wash with mitt, rinse and dry.

It's got a good layer of SRP and Meguires Wax and use Autoglym Aqua Wax every 2 weeks or so.

Spotless.

Your missing my point pal, I dont need convincing how good it is. I want to know if I'm doing something wrong as the car clearly is as dirty as when i started.

Has the car ever been cared for other then a sponge bath every now and again?

If not the dirt will be welded on solid, give it a good clean and a nice polish and wax. dirt won't stick and you will see snow foam results

Yes it has, my brother clayed it, polished it and gave it about 3 coats of wax 2 weeks ago. the dirt is not welded on, its just normal grime from everyday driving, as you can clearly see, my finger got rid of it in one of the pics.

If he had done all that, then just rinsing it with a pressure washer would shift the dirt.

how much snow foam do you add to a litre of water?

It says at the start of the thread.

super snow foam
30ml snow foam, like it says on the container. Hoever I used a bit more when I did my brothers just to make sure it wasn't too weak.

it sounds like there isnt enough pressure going through the lance , and how far away are you standing??? Obv dont hold it too close that itl lift the paint though. Ive lifted dirt off my car using a bp jetwash lance before (not the brush) without any trouble

The pw is about 115bar, should be plenty really.

how much snow foam do you guys put into your bottle, the guy on detailing world says he uses around 130ml in a 1litre bottle.
