Snow foamer lance

I've got one, although I need to get another as I broke it.

Nice piece of kit. Hope to have them in stock soon also.

^ That looks SO satisfying lol. Mat, I think you have won the biggest "spunking foam over a car award 2007" - congratulations! ;)

Do you know if either the Karcher attachment or the Gilmour will attach to the Halfords own brand pressure washers, as I am getting one for Christmas and want to be in snow foam city!

These are great, just be careful putting it on & taking it off.

Mine sometimes comes apart instead of comming off the powerwash gun itself.

That was my own special mix I made up to get that extra thick foam. ;)

With regards to the Halfords pressure washer, I'm unsure but I don't think so, can anyone confirm?

Also got one. Also sometime took the head off instead of the lance coming off. It's now impossible to take off so I just leave it on there.

Nice bit of kit though.

Thats emense foaming, thats what i was trying to achieve, but to no avail
Any tips on which shampoos to mix to get those results?

Just spoke to them, its a different connection...so thats a no then :(

Recommendations - fork out almost twice as much for the Karcher or put up with the Super Spray? TBH my car never really gets that dirty, its more for customer cars, and to have a little fun with.

What mixture did you use Mat, it looks ridiculously foamy.

In those pics above I was using approx 1.5cm of Super Snow Foam and 1.5cm of Britemax Clean Max concentrated shampoo.

Ok, decision time here please people. Do I:

Get the Halfords pressure washer, and make do with the Super Spray attachment I already have (which does the job in terms of getting the worst much of and breaking down traffic film)

Get the Halords pressure washer and upgrade to a Gilmour (am I right in assuming the Gilmour fits to a hozelock tap fitting?)

Get a Karcher pressure washer and the Karcher foam lance?

TBH I am tending towards the latter, the Halfords washer is good quality and cheap, but I want to pretend to spunk all over cars...

Thanking you.

How much is the Halfords unit?

Riz, I am very tempted...just the Karcher will cost over £50 more than the Halfords, but I guess in the long run I guess its worth it...? The Gilmour is £50 or thereabouts too, the Karcher foam lance is only £15 so I don't think I will take the Gilmour option.

^^^^^^^^^

What about a factory reconditioned Karcher with a full 1yr manufacturers guarantee, there are a few dealers selling these on ebay.

  Works...kind of...
Dont get a Karcher Foam Lance. Supposedly they suck the big one.

Get an AB lance that I linked to. I promise you wont regret it. :)

Those Karcher foam lances are crap . They foam , but its only a dribble , they don't hold enough and you have to refill them a couple of times plus they are low pressure .

Even after you've foamed the car , it'll still need a good blast at high pressure . Get a 25 litre fermenting bin , a couple of capfuls of shampoo , fill up with warm water and a 6 foot hose from your Karcher to the bin . Then you'll have lots of high pressure foam ;)

MrBilly, seen your method and looks a great option, but I don't have the space at my parents for a fermenting bin, and my dad wouldn't want it on the driveway for sure.

Did you not see those pictures Mat7 posted though using the foam lance, that looked pretty impressive to me!

^^^ They should be for the price . It doesn't sound like the best built bit of kit tbh . A couple of broken ones mentioned

25 litre fermenting bins aren't huge . I store 2 buckets inside mine , so not much larger than 2 buckets one inside the other .

AutoBrite-Direct are brilliant, the guy who owns it is a lovely chap and will happily answer any questions you have.

Yes, they're UK based. Did you even look at the link I posted? LMAO

I only mentioned the karcher one as I have a karcher jet wash.

By the sounds of it the AutoBrite one sounds the one to have?

  Mito Sportiva 135
Yeh maybe, going to give the Autobrite guy a call tomorrow.

2thumbs - sorry, I didn't really know what you were talking about in your original post, makes a lot more sense now, thanks.

its good jay but its quite tight all the lances are the same cleanandshiny etc etc , if u get the autobrite one get the heavy duty one its better than the standard one, its a must really

  Works...kind of...
No worries mate. ;)

If you do get one, apply some grease to the innter part of the Lance, will help it go on easier as it can be tight the first few times of using it.

  Mito Sportiva 135
Cool. I thought they would just have the connector, but I am guessing that Autobrite make their equivalent version of the Karcher foam lance to fit the Halfords PWs as well as other makes, right?

Any ideas how much they are? I am a bit confused - the Karcher foam lance is £15 on Halfords and £45 other places, surely not the same product, no?

cool thanks for the info

Just tried to pay on AutoBrite site with a debit card but it only says paypal or credit something or other?

Any ideas or is it best to give them a ring?

I called today but Mark wasn't in, said I would call back later but I got a good essay mark back so went for a drink and forgot lol. Will do it tomorrow...must try harder!

Just spoken to Mark @ AutoBrite, my Karcher foam lance and super snow foam will get sent out today! :D
