Cars aren't really designed to be 'safe' at the rear .. well they certainly weren't in the mid 90s when this was designed.

If you want to know what happens when something doesn't bend, Google images of cars hitting skips on the side of the road.

Thankfully, i was OK. My passenger on the other hand came away with a broken nose, teeth missing and a fractured jaw! I was fuming!

About 10+ years ago my mate was a passenger in a nova wihen a very similar incident occured. He lost teeth, broke a collar bone etc and after a 12 month claim, he settled on £32,000 compensation.

Your passenger's got a big cheque coming!

The bad thing is, he bought a brand spanking new mondeo ST220 with the money (About £27k's worth anyway) and has still got it now. I't probably worth about £2000 and that's it.

I'd have tried to do something a bit more useful with the money, especially as he's probably 35/36 now and still lives with his parents! lol.
