Petrol light came on today...... Needle still showing around a quarter of a tank, so which is wrong

Btw, service light dosent go out, we have had diagnostic tools and everything on it !

I would say it's your light that is wrong.

Personally, I'd stick a gallon of petrol in the boot and drive the car untill it stops. Then you know for sure.

Put the key in ignition, and turn to last point before you engage starter BUT hold down the button on the end of the stalk (presuming you've got a computer on there) .. then press the button until you find the display showing '*L' and thats how much fuel is apparently left in the tank in litres.

Have you changed the clocks to make it a rep ?

do what evil giraffe said, fuel guage is hardly accurate anyway, i would probably trust the light over the needle. but it may be faulty or something
