MKIII 138
hi,
rite asthetically i want my alloys/tyres to line up with the rear arch of my car, yet fronts perhaps have slightly less flared arches. is there any disadvantages in running the 18"x7.5 (or 18"x8 in cup`s case) on the front and running larger on the rear ??
i.e ive seen some 18"x8 alloys but there are some 18"x9 in the same make ? could i put the x9 on the rear and standard size on the front the x8 ? or is it better to stick to x8 on front and back and just use a spacer i.e 20mm to bring the wheel out a bit further ?
lets say i go with a spacer as it makes more sense. how will handling on a fwd car be effected by stock front settings yet 20/30mm spaced on rear of the car ? will it be more stable or unbalanced ?
what happens if i space both front and back 20/30mm (perhaps more) ?? is it worse handling or is it better due to wider track ?
finally if the stock car has 7.5" width and the cup variant has 8" wheel width does that mean that fitting aftermarket 9" width will give even more grip ?
whats the main difference between a spaced tyre and a fat tyre that had the
width of the spaced tyre if you see what i mean ? <
cheers, just never spaced or gone with wider tyres than stock before wondered if there were any benefits to either wider tyers (not like 19"/20" but actually wider euro stylee)
also is there any benefits to spacing and do you need camber/tracking altered to go with your new setup
sorry for a ll the dull questions just not sure what to go with
