Good to see your getting going with it dave. It will be awesome when it's done.

Is the RT engine fairly simple to take out? Bearing in mind I haven't taken and engine out before lol. Just wondering as I may need to take mine out for some work (well it's one option anyway to get the job done).

Yea its all done now. Its off the road now for winter, as i've got a few things that need doing, mainly bodywork issues nowand also my alternator has decided to stop working and drain the battery, which isn't so good. (plus I need to get new tyres, tax, MOT and I'm sorta skint until the new year anyway).

Its rapid lol, thats all I can say, I haven't even pushed it that hard, as I've not done 500 miles yet, as alot of the parts need wearing in first :)

Get yours done for FCS next year mate :D would be nice to see what you do to yours, have always liked your motor, is the same colour as mine used to be

Well as its only been running stock power (as its still running in), i'd say about 130bhp perhaps, as its not got a cat on it. I run a recirc valve with just a cone filter, that way u still get a slight 'dumping' sound, dump valves and the ECU system used on this engine don't mix at all, causes lumpy idle, stalling, running rich, basically not good. dual piston dv's still cause the same problems with idle problems etc.

Got diff injectors and cam fitted at the moment (nothing too wild), next year at some point i'll be getting a new ecu fitted, and new exhaust manifold made to take a bigger turbo

so, in theory lol, could you fit any engine to any car? (as long as it fits in the engine bay) apart from changing the engine mounts, what else you got to think about?

im wanting to start a project car, probably next summer or abit later, and just trying to learn as much as poss! (got to start somewhere)

Well there has been little progress on the old shed for a while. So heres some recent development. My engine is moving on (slowly), so i bought this in the meantime. Really i bought it for the spare engine and it also has some useable parts as we have 3 Mk1's between a few friends. Let me knwo what you think.
