My girlfriend was getting into her car on tuesday night and someone reversed from the space next to her. She heard a strange noise and the car went back into the space. The other driver was on a mobile.
She got out to check the car. It was really dark and there didn't seem to be anything wrong and the other driver was ignoring her so she thought he had just gone back into the space to talk on his phone and that his car had made the strange noise.
She was on her own in a pitch black car park so didn't want to speak to the other driver.
She checked the car again when she got home and couldn't see anything again it was dark. She forgot about it. Until tonight when we were in a lit car park and i noticed the passenger door was slightly dented. The door also clucks when shutting it. This is going to cost a bit to fix.
I was wondering what our options are :-
Its 2 days later the insurance would ask why we didn't contact them sooner. So is there any point in calling them? She has the reg number and the guys car's paint is on her door would this help?
Please any advice on what we should do would be greatly appreciated.
