Hey Everybody!

Over the past few year's Iv'e collected a lot of broken tek and I've held onto them with the promise to myself I would make an effort to get them repaired, among my pile I have several laptops and desktops, an iPhone 3G and a PS3... yes these all failed on me - I'm bloody unlucky with electronics :rasp:

With no car to work on this weekend and the winter approaching I figured I would make a start - SO!

Here we have my original PS3 (60gb model) I made this happy purchase on the 11th of October 2007 - 7 months after release.

The issue I had with this one was failure of the blu ray diode on the laser - a common issue from what I read !

After some months of putting off fixing it, Christmas came and I was lucky enough to receive a PS3 slimline... as you can imagine this did nothing to aid the effort of fixing my old (And to be honest, preferable PS3)

I thought it would be best to start with dismantling the console:

f**k sake, for your next project learn how to resize photos!

With regards to this one though, so far you've taken a PS3 apart. Errm congrats!

Sorry about the photo size, I actually thought I had selected resize when i uploaded them

@The Ironist The Blu ray drive is fubar, I still need to take delivery of the laser however so I cannot fix that one yet. Was hoping to get everything out and cleaned up then re housed with the SSD (Although there is nothing wrong with the standard)
