Something for my black bits

show me some links! :D

I have loads of different products for different bits as found none work amazingly well all-round.

For me:

Splitter, fog surround and the bit in the rear bumper: Blackfire Tyre Gel (yes, tyre gel, deal with it!)

Window seals: Collinites 476 wax (yes, wax, deal with it!)

Mirror surrounds: AG Vinyl and Plastic (a bit conventional I know!)

I find the Blackfire gives a nice dark and really durable finish on the fogs and splitter, everything else comes off as soon as it rains, this lasts a bit longer and has a nice dark and slightly wet finish to it, although you can tone it down by buffing it off a bit.

Also got Sonus Trim and Motorkote which works well, although at the moment has been moved to arch duties! Also have Chemical Guys New Look Vinyl but find it doesn't last that long. Now use it for plastics in engine bay and also over the top of Blackfire gel on the tyres in the summer for the uber wet finish we all know and love so dearly!

Have used WD40 in the past too and works well but don't have any right now (or my dad has none left to steal from :approve:)

Iv just had a tip from a mates dad who restores old classic cars. It sounds absolutely mental but he said it works amazingly on bringing really badly faded bumpers back up to a rich black colour.

I'm up or trying new things, peanut butter on my car is not one though lol...that goes on my toast!

Peanut butter has been a tip for a long time, 5 always believed it was for removing polish stains rather than as a trim dressing.

I've heard peanut butter is good as well, mainly becuase of the oils in it.

Yeh thats what he said, the oils bring out the original colour or summat. For 70p for a jar of peanut putter its worth a try. Saves on the £5 plus specialist products

lasts well and beads well. Covers white marks from polish too

I am going to try some of the Blackfire on the GTi trim tomorrow evening.

Rich, where can i buy blackfire long lasting tyre gel from ?

Polished Bliss

You can also get it from BMW, did all the seals on the 106 with mine last night.

  CS Dungeon
Zymol carbon on all plastic trim, rubber seals & wiper blades
Hyper dressing for arches
Blackfire for tyres

Dont seem to have any problem with it Rich, 90% of the time I give them a scrub with an old nail brush and just slap the Carbon on.

Will put up a cpl of pics when I get back to office
