Sony Alpha Lens Recommendation

Has anyone got a Sony Alpha DLSR?

I am looking to buy a new lens. I currently have the kit 18-70mm and I am looking at the Sony 75mm-300mm lens, currently around £180 with £50 cash back. The alternative I have seen is the Sigma 70-300mm lens for £130.

I have read a couple of reviews on the Sony lens and in conclusion it seems you get what you pay for, images are good, but start to suffer towards the 300mm end. I can't seem to find a review for the Sigma.

Is anyone able to pass on first hand knowledge of these lenses, or any alternatives around the same sort of price.

Ok, went to 2 local camera shops, both recommended the Sony, now purchased. end of!

Not come across anyone else with it yet.
I've been really impressed with it so far.

Let me know how your lens pans out for you, I might look at getting another one sometime too.

I have a Tamron 70-300mm great lens with macro setting also opn offer at jesops £150.00. Great addition to the camera.

^ Cheers. I did see that in several places, both of them did recommend the Sony lens over it though. Is the macro setting good on it?
