Sony Lens Repair....

My other halfs sister has a sony DSLR with 18-70 and 70-300 lenses.

Its out of warranty but the 18-70 has jammed at 18mm, she took it to Jessops and they wanted £35 just to look at it, which is non refundable!

Are there any places you can send off faulty lenses too for repair that don't charge an arm and a leg and a Kidney?

Another reason not to buy a Sony, can't seem to find an official service center for camera gear, should be some contact details around there somewhere though you could try. If they are any where near as good as Canon they should check out the product for free and give a quote before any work is done.

I looked for the official repair center stuff too, bit s**t really!

Nikon & Canon both do it - so why cant sony!!!

There is one just around the corner from my work, they offer great service and fixed my camera for free, even though it was 3 years out of warranty.

The bad news is that it is in Amsterdam!

Sony do claim on the UK site that it only takes 5 days for a repair though.
