Soooo.... How many 182's were made?

  182 Full Fat
Anyone know the final number of 182's that were made and if possible, how many of each colour?

Cheers

Cups were ltd edition. thats why!

Incorrect. Cups had a limited production run, but weren't a limited edtion. Although winter by winter they get rarer. lol.

As I recall there were something like 2000 Cups sold here.

Renault will have figures for how many they have produced of any car. And judging by the amount of 182's I see each day I reckon they made well over a million. lol.

No idea. Far fewer than the Mk2 172 I would imagine.

A lot less yes. Hardly see any mk1s about, plenty of mk2s though. Then again, they're been in production for longer so it is expected

and look better, and are faster, more reliable, better seats n dials,

The seats are the same, bar the tacky coloured stitching on the mk1.

Dials I'll give you. But what about the dash.... :dead:

And more reliable? WTF?? It's a renault! They're all as bad as each other!

All of the mk1 172 owners that say they look nicer, can't wait to get mk2 lights, rear bumper, bump strips on thier motor. The mk1 172 looks like a little bubble car. lol.

And they're no faster. And they handle like an elephant on roller skates.

But apart from that I agree entirely.

Whats the difference?

Limited editions like the Trophy and the Williams have plates in them with there production number on.

Cup's don't have them.

no mrk 1 are faster, they have the same suspension, so handel the same, seats are still better, more reliable as they dont have a gay pooh eletronic t/b, dash is fine, stock bumper and lights are fine mrk2 look nicer ill give u that one, bubble are hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, points proven, oh and it has a better box and a ally bonnet

  Ford Fiesta
Jeremy will have the figures, think he told me that there were around 46 182s in the UK with the renault nav. so if he can get figures for that Im sure he can get other figures too.

The suspension is different. It's set up for 16" wheels for a start and has different spring and damping rates.

I've never heard of a fault with the fbw throttle. More sensitive than a cable jobbie, and has fewer moving parts thus requires less maintenace. Gear box is essentially the same, only the ratios were altered on the mk2 to provide better acceleration through the gears. Mk1 5th gear is terrible.

And only some mk1's have a aluminium bonnet.

Yeah only Williams 1 were numbered - I think there were 500 odd RHD examples made ands sold here. LOADS more in Europe though.

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
damping rate on mrk1 is set up for 15, so it equals out, the same shocks are used and springs, the ratios were set up on the mrk2 for all round smooth, mrk1 is set up for sprint, 5th is not bad, there s**t top end anyways, tb response is better on mrk1, it is a better system, fbw contantly f**k up, most have the bonnet no mrk2s have this

  Renault Laguna Coupe
Interestingly the 182 Cup (as opposed to 182 with Cup packs) is rarer than the 182 Trophy. The Trophy was a proper limited edition, with just 500 units available. The 182 Cup was available in unlimited numbers, but only sold 340 cars in the UK.

That is an amazing statistic because I seem to see loads more Cups and figured they were just as numerous as the full fat. The rarest 182 must be the non cupped full fat.

By the way telford mike, the other day I was just randomly reading an old thread from 2002 in what I think was a Seat forum of all things and saw your name in there talking up 172's, I found it really trippy for some reason!

True, it's bloomin' poop! I've never driven a mk2, but the mk1 suspension is a bit springy? Bounce all over the place. Going to get some Eibachs as soon as I can afford them, should sort it out.

But yes, the mk1 looks better :D Down to personal opinion mind.

i never thought it that bad.....? whats wrong with it? the suspension is bouncy, but its stock, eibachs are a good move with them

I would hazard a guess that the rarest would be full fat with either just the cup suspension pack or just the cup spoiler because places like motorpoint were knocking out quite a few full fat 182`s with no spoiler or suspension packs.

My 182 is full fat with just the spoiler pack. I was wondering if this was quite unusual. I must admit that ive not seen any others like it about. Mines Black Gold but ive never seen a black 182 without the front splitter.
