Sound on the New PC

Hey guys,

Recently acquired a new (Used, not brand new) PC but having trouble getting any sound. When I install the SoundFX driver I can't get any sound out of any of the 3.5mm jacks (there are 5 on one card, 3 on another and then the headphone jack at the front).

Out of one of the sockets I get a very very fuzzy sound of the song I am trying to play but apart from that, nothing.

Help would be appreciated.

do you only hear what your playing when you have the speakers turned up full ?


Check the mixer settings, they are probably muted..

go into device manager mate and see if there's a yellow exclamation symbol next to the soundcard driver

also check the BIOS and make sure that the Onboard Sound is disabled if you are using a sound card in a pci slot.
