Sound system but something missing...

  Clio 200 LY/SV650S
Currently running a fusion sub/amp 400w with alpine x300 radio and front JBL's 90 watt and Vibe 90 watt in rear.
Only thing is, when lsitening to songs seem like some bits are quieter than they should be. Only example I can think of is Pendulum Propane nightmares when you hear the four x beat of the drums at start. Seems quite quiet.
What would bring there volume back up? Tried messing with settings but still not helping them. Mid-range speakers etc ?
Sorry if unclear, typing on ipod woops

On that song in particular the first 4 beats are pretty quiet anyway :S

are you listening to the songs from your ipod? sounds odd i know but if i listen to my ipod all the songs are generally quieter then if im listening to songs on a cd insted....

yep straight from ipod.
I thought that also about the song, but after listening in my mates car.... well :| Sounds like few bits and bobs seem quieter on my setup than his such as certain ranges in the songs

I-Poo = MP3
MP3 = Compression
Compression = Lost Quality

In some instances whatever software you use to rip music to MP3 can adversely affect some recording levels....

Now to your actual car....

1, check speaker 'phasing'
2, try different speaker 'phasing' ,(one at a time, if it sounds better, move onto next one)....
3, check crossover points on mids & sub, if over lapping you may experience cancellation issues, (similar to 'phasing' issues)....

Try to tune your system altering one parameter/setting at a time, it takes experience to tune from scratch in minutes, you could take hours & still struggle....

Depends what bitrate they are, if they are any lower than 128kbps then the quality will be dismal. Majority of mine are around 320kbps as I'm not limited on storage.

Will try the above in a bit and check it out. Just thought might be something silly like got speakers set up for certain frequencies without knowing missing out another type of certain frequency, so it plays that quiet.
But maybe its just my cursed compressed songs :eek:

I've heard arguments that 128kbps is considered to be CD quality by many, I've also heard that 320kbps, (which I use), is considered to be a poor second to original CDs....It's all down to personal preference....

My point wasn't specifically aimed at the compression settings, more towards the general output quality of the I-Poo itself whilst playing MP3....And again, this is purely down to my personal preference....
