Sound System set-up?

  R34 GT-R & 172 Cup
Wanting to upgrade my 172 speakers as my one speaker is rattling. Just need some quick advice to see if i got it right. Im keeping my headunit standard but want to...

1. Upgrade speakers to 13cm components.
2. Amp them...but how? lol
3. Sound proof the doors around the speakers
4. Upgraded tweeters
5. Maybe a small sub or bass tube

What am i missing out and what order should i do it in? Im after decent bass but clear sound as well. Any brands of products or a diagram of how to do it all would be good :) plus any extras needed to make it all work.

cheers

Not alot of point doing any of that with the standard H/U...

You'll notice a huge improvement by replacing it!

Thats not what i wanted to hear. so if i keep the standard HU just buy a replacement renault speaker?

The standard headunit has no preouts so the only way to connect an amp would be to run a lineout from the speakers.

I did this in my first car and it was crap. Always use an aftermarket H/U now unless it's a decent OEM setup....I.E. Harmon Kardon in Minis, etc.

You can replace the speakers and it will be a bit better but not much.

Replacing the headunit will give you a much a better amplifier for the front and rear speakers.

They are all the same fit so depends what you want it to do and how much you want to spend. They are all at least 4x50watts now which is much much better than the standard H/U.

All of the Sony/Pioneer/etc all have adaptors for use with the standard clio steering wheel controls so you wont lose any functionality.

I'm thinking of doing an inexpensive upgrade on my 172

already have the headunit, some alpine unit.

wondering, where would I put the amp? I dont really want to use up boot space, as it's a daily driver and there's already a sub tube in there. Could an amp go under the passenger seat without a fire happening, as it seems the seat backs on FF 172's are made of cloth and in no way substantial enough to fix stuff to?

In my car im running an amp to power my 6x9's and i put the amp under the passenger seat...easy to get wires to and you dont even know its there :) all you have to do is take out the plastic tray thing thats underneath.
