Spark Plug Change on Williams

Can someone give me a bit of a walk through talk on how to change the spark plugs on my Williams, including tools i will need, and tricky bits, and what NOT to do? The spark plugs i have are NGK BCP 7EV, are these the right ones? If this shouldnt be attempted by a novice tell me now and ill get someone else to do it, but i would like to learn to do it myself.

Halfords sell a tool that will get them out, its basically a long reach plug spanner, cant remember the size due to stella, but it doesnt cost much and will pull them out no probs. be careful when you replace them not to cross thread them, in other words dont force them in let them find the thread and take to it, they should go in resonably easily.

ul have to take off the plastic cover first lol

this is secured by 3 or 4 10 mm bolts......

loads of people have problems with the bosch super 4s denso irridiums seem to be the best plugs, but then cost LOADS for a set.

i find Bosch to be the worst and NGK to be the best.

There will almost certainly be oil in the plugwells, so take the plugs out the oil will fall striaght into the cylinders.....its easiest to take the cam cover off and clean up the wells before you take the plugs out, oil doesnt do any harm but puff out alot of whote smoke. But if you got a cat its up to you, i just let the oil fall into the cylinders.

Instead of another crap paper gasket, just get some setting silicone gasket.......it wont leak anymore after that.

Easy task mate.....

10 mil plug wrench or plug socket.

Just be careful when youre putting the plugs in again that you dont cross thread them. Im pretty sure Champion EON 1 are a straight swap as well. I thought the standard plugs were BCP-7ES not EV?

Standards are but these are the Platinum Gold plugs which are the surposed to be better. I have em in mine and it runs sweet.

the standard NGK heat range for a willy is a 6 not 7

BKR6EK is the recommended plug

the K at the end means twin electrode

if you wanted platinum........BKR6EVX or BKR6EP however both these plugs are only available with gap codes...... -8 = 0.8mm gap and -11 = 1.1mm gap

the best NGK to go for would be BKR6EIX which would be an Iridium plug...

if you definitely wanted some i should be able to source some but they wont be cheap

ITS A SPARK PLUG PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have absolutely no need to run fancy expensive materials.
