Spark plugs

when the mileage says so (service wise I mean) and if you have any problems with cylinders not firing.

could be the coil pack also if it isn't firing on all cylinders. Does it sound like a tractor? and has very little power at all?

yeahh!!

it does not move as quick as it normally does

but if it was the coil pack, it wouldnt rattle :S

From past experience, when the engine sounds like a 2 stroke and the power is down its coil pack issues.

Saying that, not sure what the shaking gearbox could be. wouldn't be related to a cylinder not firing.

yeah,

i believed it was the spark plugs my self with the experience i had on a phase 1 172.. but i cant remember if the gear box was shaking or not?

and also cannot remember if it shaked even more when i turned on the AC :S

I thought i needed a spark plug change after missfiring, hesitation in 1st and reverse. And when footing it to the floor in high gears having hesitiation and no power.

Turned out to be coil pack.

suppose you could remove them and see if there is anything out of place. would be easier to change the coil pack first though.

coil park is the block that sits at the top of the engine with the wires that feed into the place where the spark plugs are. One for each plug.

5 of mine went on my 1.4. crap design obviously. All went within about 2 months. One of the new ones went obviously (not a v5 1.4 ;))

He's got a sport though no?

ok i just did the spark plug test where you unplug the cables?

when disconnecting the two cables in the middle.. the car completed shut off

but disconnecting the two spark plug cables on the sides, the car just dropped in speed...

is spark plugs the problem?

if they are due to get changed anyway then why not really. Probably the cheaper option. no sure how much the coil packs cost

Solved & Fixed!!
