spark plugs

  172 Ph2
Hi can anyone recommend somewhere to get some good spark plugs for my standard 172? Would like to get the best price possible, as I've heard Renault charge quite a lot for them!
Thanks

eBay for the standard NGK ones, they are the best for the car and can be had for about £30ish.

How deep down are the plugs?

Deep enough to make it worth buying one of those special tools?

Cheers,

Just that my 1.2 plugs were really deep and didn't want to lose a socket down there :p

New plugs soon then! I am considering super 4's as they were a big improvement in my C2 but all the comments on here seem a bit negative towards them.

Searching on here as I did before there is much more negative comments than good, I've seen it mentioned they can cause problems with the coil packs too and there's even been times when the plugs have burnt out within a month.

thanks for the replies. will go for some NGK PFR6E-10 Platinum ones. I like to make sure it's got the best ones for it. Is it best to take it to a garage to fit? Heard you've got to take the inlet manifold off just to change them!

If you have 10mm spanner/socket and a suitable plug socket (13mm iirc) then it takes about 20 minutes to do all 4.

Thanks, got a mechanic to do them in the end for a drink so I didn't have to worry about losing a socket down the well.

I wouldnt use anything other than the standard ones.

I may have been unlucky, but I once fitted Bosch Super 4's from Halfords and the ignition coil failed the next day - it had overheated and split. Im convinced this was something to do with the bosch plugs.
