We don't 'rate' them, they're just the correct plugs to use.

This. Threads with issues from non OEM spark plugs are probably second only to cambelt problem threads.

Non OEM spark exiting through cylinder head example 1 http://www.cliosport.net/forum/show...n-a-spark-plug-out&highlight=bosch+spark+plug
Non OEM spark exiting through cylinder head example 2 http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?724093-what-am-i-best-to-do&highlight=bosch+spark+plug
Non OEM spark exiting through cylinder head example 3 http://www.cliosport.net/forum/show...g-Clio-172-Phase-2&highlight=bosch+spark+plug

You might read those and say "over tightened" but I've never seen a thread in which the OEM plugs did that.

I don't understand why people even bother with anything non oem when it comes to things like this, it's not like you'd use a plug from a fiesta in say a ferarri. Obviously it doesn't quite work like that but you get what I'm saying. Then you get people asking for advice and then just ignoring it completely. f***s me off something rotten.

:lolup:that's got to be the most tenuous link you could have, you might as well say that they all had tyres on so it was the fact that they had tyres on caused problems with the plugs

Slightly less tenuous as you make out given they're all (IIRC) one make and model of spark plug & other people in those threads saying they've heard bad things about the same plug.

However of course I'm not saying anything non-OEM blows up - as you'd be right in thinking that does sound ludicrous.

But like it or not these cars do seem to be fussy about the type of plug, same as they're fussy about timing, same as dephasers are fussy about regular oil changes changes, same as they're fussy about non OEM rear bearings.

If you look at a forum every week for a few years you do notice the threads that crop up over and over again. Spark plugs are one of those threads.

had bosch (think they are a double platinum? not the super 4) in mine for about 6,000 miles now and it's fine. i remember years ago just about everyone claiming reno's wouldn't run properly unless they had beru plugs in them.
