Spark plugs

After a little advice just removed theses from a friends car and as you can see the one from number 4 is black. What could cause this??

I’m assuming a Triumph Spitfire doesn’t use the same spark plugs as a 1*2. But I could be wrong.

I was going to say Cortina, but then some smart arse would point out that these are 14mm, not 18mm with a taper seat.

To be fair he didn't say what car they had come from and the picture so distorted you cant read what's on the plugs.
