i get the car noise (i.e revving) from my rear speakers which are connected to an amp. what could be the problem>?

Is the power cable is next to the rcas? If so thats the problem.

The cable running from the preouts on the stereo to the amp taking the ausio signal.

its called suppression the noise that your hearing, as the others have said, either rcs with power cable or (more likely) the earth!

Get a suppressor, easier than rerunning cables!

Its call EMI, can be resolved by a Suppressor however its always better to solve whats causing it rather than covering it up!
