Speakers for bedroom setup ?

At the moment I have these TDL Nucleus 2 speakers http://www.tdl-loudspeakers.co.uk/nucleus2.htm running from a cambridge audio A1 amp http://www.hi-fi-insight.com/cambridge-audio-a1-integrated-amplifier.html

I'm looking for something a bit smaller that can sit next to my tv (26") on the unit, but still offer a real good punch! Any hi-fi buffs got any good suggestions ?

Would i be better off with speaker stands than getting new, smaller speakers

I've seen some for £60 from richer sounds but seems like alot ?!

oh and smaller will give you less punch as to get punch you need to move air and to move more air you need bigger drivers and bigger drivers mean bigger speaker cabinet

mine do alright for book shelfs but floor standers will give you more bass as they have more drivers

So would you say to raise them up as high as pos ? The one closest to the window is limited to how high it can go because of the curtains

these are mine but the other option is to add a sub

also the more power you have the better the CA a1 is a bit underpowered really for any large speakers

What would be the best way to implement a sub, when it's only a 2 channel amp ?

Double up on the wires coming out of the amp ? So it would be 2 wires to left speaker + sub, 2 wires to right speaker + sub ?

nah the sub would have to have it's own amp and you just take a phono set to it

on the back of your amp is there a socket called pre out ?
