speakers, subs etc

Hello.

I recently bought rockford fosgate 6x9's for 70 quid. they are 150watt 3 way. they were reduced from £100.

Why is it that i could have bought 800watt 4 way speakers for 12 quid off ebay?

those 800w speakers would take 800 watts for a nano second

they are made by some random company that usually makes burgers or something and will sound like a 1970's radio with dog s**t in your ears.

the sub is a bargain however lol

stick with rockford, sony, kenwood etc.

My mate was saying how he has 1000watt 6x9's and he turned them up and it sounded rubbbbish

my rockfords sound sweet and clear - sounds like i have a sub in my boot when i turn mine up :rasp:

i had a pair of JBL 6x9's before and put 340wRMS up each one and they caught fire.

so only looks for RMS figures to compair audio equipment

i did it on purpose i was fitting a pair of 12's so i just conected them up to the amp i had for the subs and let rip

also tbh sony kenwood are s**t makes should of stuck with making tv's and food blends respectivly

Rockford are pretty good speakers yeah, and dont go by power figures when picking speakers thats pretty much useless.
I always look for 2 things, RMS power and freq range. The bigger the frequency range the better the speaker. You just need to try and match RMS figures on you're speakers and you're amp then and try to match resistance figures (2ohm/4ohm etc) aswell.

The sub has a tear in it, thats what the listing said, so you've bought something that doesn't work. The box should be alright though so cheap for a box, still need a sub though.

In a nutshell, Dont run 6x9s.

Go by RMS figures as stated, And the sub you have bought is pretty much worthless But box is good for £2.20
