As a speed camera warning device the Talex Lite is brilliant and every bit as good as the more expensive GPS based units I've owned. I bought one for £29.99 last year but I think you'll be looking at paying £89.99 for one now plus £35 for a year subscription if you choose to update it.

Ive got a 'Road Pilot', had it nearly 2 yrs, found it 99% accurate and its very small, 1.8 inch lcd screen. Also has laser detector device that goes on the front of your car.

ther best way is to stick to the limit....but...on occasion it is easy to be somewhere you dont normaly drive, not realise its a 30 or 40 zone and are slightly over the limit!
i have an origin B2 at the mo, but only fitted it uesterday, and only cos my old man gave it me a year back....
he didnt rate it, but has a road angel 2 now, which is only as good IMO! i think he got a new one as the power lead was a bit dodgy, but iv fixed that!
the gps ones are always weak on the laser tho!
as for the origin, i aint tried it yet so i cant comment!

I thought the Origin B2 was the best performing unit of those costing over £150. I've owned a B2, Snooper, Road Pilot and a Road Angel.
I'd rate them:
1. B2
2. Road Pilot
3. Road Angel
4. Snooper
The B2 database was by far the most uptodate and accurate of them all.
The Talex Lite has impressed me because for a fraction of the cost it is every bit as uptodate and accurate as the B2.

The B2 has never let me down in 4 years of use! Continues to be a strong leader in the market.

Mine picked up a few.
But nothing will be 100% effective against mobile vans/ laser traps.
The only effective way is a dedicated laser unit which are expensive.
Alternative is an expensive garage door opener
Other than the dedicated devices Has mentioned the laser detection in the gps units isn't exactly great and if it beeps chances are they have already clocked your speed.
I'd not be counting on any of these gps units to save you from mobile laser traps. Buy and fit a dedicated laser unit or slow down.
