Speedo Problems

I have a 1.2 98on clio mk2. The speedo blinks off now and then with the mph falling to zero when driving.

Although there are advantages of low mileage recorded the draw back off getting 3 points out weigh this benifit.

Is it a common prolem and if so whats at fault?

Is it the Speed sensor in the gear box or aa problem with the wiring?

Would greatly appreciate if you could help.

I have exactly the same car. I have not had this problem but my car did not have a rev counter so i went on ebay and bought a set of dials with a revcounter they went straight in.

you have to take the top of the dashboard off to get to them like but it's worth it.

in answer to your problem, check the easy-to-get-at stuff first make sure all the connectors are clean and making full contact - then if all that fails, attempt to remove the dials to check the 4 plugs on the back (to be honest it sounds to me like the clocks themselves are faulty)
