speedometer doesn't respond

I have this problem the last 3 years now...speedometer works a while after i start the car then drops to 0mph and stay..sometimes runs..most of the time does not.

is there a guide about this prob ?!?

Maybe the speed sensor on the gearbox, i'm sure clio's have them. i'd give that a quick look

Change the speedo sensor.

I just had the same problem on my 172 Cup, changed the speedo sensor and BINGO, all back to normal.
I bought a sensor off Ebay for £20, total bargin, take 2 minutes to swap them over.
